I really enjoyed Basil Ristorante at 846 Broadway. They serve Italian and seafood. To look at their menu go to: www.restaurantrow.com.

Eileen,
Assuming you will be staying in town and attending business at the convention center, here are a few picks:
1) Seafood: McCormick's at the Oxford Hotel--105+ year old hotel with great seafood in an historic setting...visit the Cruise room lounge while you're there. Jax: Trendy & fun seafood restaurant w/ great food and oyster bar.
2) French: Tante Louise--Same spot and owners for over thirty years, it's an old converted house east of downtown w/ excellent food, service and ambience.
Palace Arms at The Brown Palace Hotel. Four-star, four-diamond French/ Continental restaurant in the historic 110 year-old BP Hotel. Impeccable service in a Napoleonic setting..they simply don't build them like this anymore.
3) American: Another vote for The Buckhorn Exchange. Features game meats in a true western atmosphere (if you don't mind animal heads staring at you from all walls). One of the oldest restaurants in the state (their liquor license is the first issued in Denver and has #1 on it to prove it!). Rialto Cafe--extremely good restaurant on the 16th St. Mall offering an innnovative American menu featuring new twists on some old favorites. Great atmosphere as it's housed inside the old Rialto theatre.
Let me know if you need more info on these or others. Have fun!

Jen is right. The Flagstaff is beyond excellent. Probably in the top 3 of all the restaurants I've ever tried, anywhere. It even has excellent seafood! Oh, and that view from the maountaintop- spectacular!
Other favorites:
Denver Buffalo Company - you've never had good meat until you've tried their buffalo london broil. Not remotely gamey, it's like a slightly sweeter, more tender version of beef.
Red Lion Inn in Boulder - I took my client & boss here on my hotel concierge's recommendation - they loved it! It's in a secluded location in the Boulder Canyon, next to a stream. They serve many different types of meat and game (I had asked the concierge for a "guy" restaurant - she was right on with this one, though I enjoyed it immensely also).

I just got back from Denver on business. I had breakfast one morning in my hotel (Brown Palace) and another morning at Dozens. The breakfast at Dozens was much better and half the price. Best dinner I had was at McCormick's Seafood. Wolfgang Puck Cafe is great for a late nite bite.
