I am a country inn lover so this is a toughie.
There are so mnay that I would LOVE to visit when the time and money allow.
Having said that, my favs so far are:
1. The Rose Inn - Ithaca New York; the rooms are spectacular (sunken jacuzzis, nice linens) and the Carriage House dining room is tops;
2. Langdon Hall - Cambridge, Ontario, Canada (45 mins. from Toronto); this place is great, beautiful rooms, excellent dining and nice spa;
and
3. The Captain's House Inn - Chatham, Mass.
(Cape Cod); we stayed in a small room at this inn, but from what I remember, the rooms were very comfortable. The thing that stands out about this inn was the service. They could not do enough for us - yet stayed "out of the way". The ocean is close, as is the main street and I just loved this place.
I would love to explore the inns of the west coast some day, especially the San Juan islands and California.

We haven't been to that many inn since we tend to stay more in hotels or resorts, but so far my favorite is the Francis Malboune House (sp?) in Newport, RI. Great breakfast and loved the afternoon tea. Great location too.

I forgot to mention a great country inn.
It is called the Inn at Starlight Lake and it is on a 45 acre small clean lake in the middle of nowhere!
Actually it is near Hancock NY in northern Pennsylvania.
The place is older and the rooms not really luxurious, but they are comfortable. You cannot beat the location for peace, and quiet and the restaurant was really good.
