Kristi has some good picks above. I like Cafe Iberico especially. It's great for a group OR a quick meal in the off hours. Otherwise, you may have a wait.
You know, I've found that if you go a block or two AWAY from the regular tourist routes (Michigan Ave being one) you will find MANY unnamed gems.
Honestly, I believe the same ones are named over and over so that the others can be kept a secret for us. LOL!

I was curious too.
I just did a citysearch for White Castle with the Loop as the central point. The closest were these two:
2134 S. Wabash (2 miles)
2001 N. Milwaukee (3.6 miles)
By me on the South side they are every 12 blocks- much greater density and even into IN.
