family reunion ideas

We are looking for a resort for a family reunion in August for 15 people ages 1-79, including several teens who like to keep active. Prefer a place with condos/housekeeping units, but are open to suggestions.

You need to be a little more specific. For example, when you say "resort", that could include:
- Hawaii
- Florida
- anywhere in between in the U.S.
- or a lovely villa over in Europe somewhere
- what is your budget? That's the first priority IMHO.

I thought your question sounded familiar, and indeed it was!

If you've lost your previous post (which had several good replies) you can find it by clicking on your username near the very top of this screen.

I had put this recent in the Maine forum because I am particularly interested in pursuing family-oriented resorts in Maine.

Aaah - I understand.

Unfortunately, there is no "Maine forum". There is only a Maine search area.

Many (though not all) of the people who come here to answer questions just look at the main US listing, so they do not have any idea that you posted with the search topic of "Maine". Only those who are also searching for Maine info will know that this post was there.

But, it's a common misconception on how those subjects work when creating a post!

The YMCA has many camp facilities that would be perfect for economical family reunions. My first recommendation would be YMCA of the Rockies near Estes Park CO, but there others on the east coast that might interest you. Check out the following website for a list of camps that are online www.stwmd.com/y-camps.php

Have you looked at Quisisana Resort in Maine? August might be full but take a look. They have shows every night and are right on a lake in the mountains.

My husbands family did a family reunion near Santa Cruz, CA at a resort called Seascape. There was a range of ages from young kids and teenagers to older adults. They said it was the best vacation they have all been on- hands down. Tons to do, great accomdations and very helpful staff. We were unbale to go becasue I was in the hospital having my little girl Taylor. Wished we could have gone because it sounded great.

Good luck!
