lodging in maine -can you comment on these?

Can anyone comment on Island View Inn (Rockport), Glen Cove Inn (Glen Cove) Cedar Crest Motel (Camden), Beloins (Camden) or Strawberry Hill Inn?
What about the Navigator or Trade Winds in Rockland?
Many thanks.

Hi,

Just a suggestion, but keep your inquiry to one post. You've got four at last count.

People are more likely to respond to one that will create a flow of information.

Sorry...I couldn't find the others, I thought Fodors had deleted them.

But thanks for counting.

I love the Island View! Was just there for the first time earlier this week and I will definitely go back. It's a lovely inn with a peaceful setting perched on a hill overlooking an inlet of Penobscot Bay - beautiful views from the rooms, grounds, and pool.
Our room was large and comfortable with an enormous bathroom. It looks like most of the rooms face the bay. The ones on second floor have balconies with the kind of view I went to Maine for.

Swimming pool was great, very nicely landscaped and very quiet. Not many of the guests used it so we had it all to ourselves most of the time.

I assume you have seen their website - the pictures there are accurate.

The only thing that some people might consider a drawback - no restaurant/no breakfast. They serve only coffee or tea in the morning. There are refrigerators in the rooms so you can keep a few items in there for breakfast. Otherwise, you have to drive someplace - no place to eat within walking distance. I didn't mind this in the least - enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony.

A couple of other things that might matter to you - the inn has wireless Internet at no charge. Could not use T-Mobile or Verizon cell phones on the premises.

The Strawberry Hill is right next door and owned by the same people. Another guest who has stayed in both places told me they are quite similar. Glen Cove was built by the same people but has been sold to another owner - if the new people have maintained it, it is probably a lot like the other two. It's very close to Strawbery Hill.

All three of these are just outside of Rockland - about a 5 minute drive into town. About 10 minutes to Camden.

cheezwhiz: Welcome to the forum. If you click on your name (whereever you see it on the page) it will bring up all the posts you've contributed to or started. It's a great way to keep track of your responses. Hope yu found some help on tripadvisor. I think they have the best reviews, but you're right to try here too.
