European Toiletries - NYC?

Hi All:

Am going to be in NYC this weekend & was wondering if any of the locals know of a good store to get European toiletries (such as Nivea soap, Timotei shampoo, etc.)?

Thanks!

For interesting products try:

Caswell Massey established 1750 something

Kiehl's-established 1850 something

Bigelow Chemists 6th Ave and 9th Street. Hard to get products but you pay for it

Agree Nivea is in every large drugstore. Have never heard of Timotei. Have you googled it to see if they list stores in the US?

Thanks. A limited amount of Nivea products are available here in the states. There is a much wider variety of products sold in Europe.

Anyone else have any suggestions? Thanks!

I don't think Timotei is available in the US. While Nivea brand lotions and shower gel is sold everywhere, I don't remember seeing a bar of soap. It is available online here on amazon.com and probably drugstore.com

They certainly would not be at Sephora which carries more upscale cosmetics.

Just discovered that amazon.com also has the Timotei shampoo but very pricey ($50 !) They're prob. coming from the UK.

Whole Foods has a lot of interesting toiletries, including Dr Hauschka and Weleda.

Does anyone in the states recall the old Nivia marketing song...

"From your fingers to your toes, you have just one set of permanent clothes... and with a little daily care (daily care) it will last for years of wear (years of wear)!
Looking smart!
Looking cool (?)
Feeling smooth!
Take care of your birthday, take care of your birthday, take care of your birthday suit!
Nivia!!"

Is there any reason not to just bring it with you? Or are you not coming from europe?

If you want large quantities/regular supply suggest you check out ebay.
