Hi

we plan to take the 0825hrs Jetblue flight from JFK to Phoenix tomorrow.

what is a good time to start from Edison in a cab?

I have told the cabbie to pick us up at 0530 hrs but my friends in the office tell me that i must start even earlier to avoid the traffic enroute to JFK.

Pls advise.

You will need to be at the airport by 6:30pm at the latest. It will take at least an hour and a half from Edison to JFK. You will also be traveling during rush hour and there is a strong possibility of storms. I would leave at 4:30pm. I would rather sit for an extra half hour at the airport as opposed to worrying if I am going to make it there in time.

Linda, the poster's flight time is 8:25 A.M., not P.M. (which would be 2025, rather than 0825). Does that change your advice?

well, we started out at 0500 hrs and reached JFK at 0550 and were through with security by 0630.

oh ya we kinda feasted on dunkin donuts at JFK as we had so much time on our hands...

Can I just ask a stupid question? Did you mean the Hotel Edison, or Edison, NJ? I think you made very good time indeed if you were coming from Edison, NJ. You went through Staten Island, I presume?
