Eating with kids in San Diego, preferably Mission Beach

We're heading to San Diego with a whole truckload of kids (okay, only five) and we're looking for kid-friendly restaurants (as well as places for takeout). We're staying in Mission Beach. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've looked back through the old forum, and it just seems like SD doesn't inspire much food talk.

Thanks,
DL

Most of the restaurants are at the north end of Mission Beach, in Pacific Beach. You will find a lot there. Here is a web site with some ideas:

The original Rubio's tacos is in Mission Beach. My kiddo loved that place.

Also, right across the street from Rubio's is an In 'n Out Burger. Mmm.

You can also go to www.signonsandiego.com to research restaurants by neighborhood and/or cuisine. (click on entertainment, then restaurants). There are reviews and websites of many places to eat. I personally love the breakfasts at The Mission Cafe (just North of the Roller Coaster).

You'll find plenty of child-friendly options along Garnet Avenue in the heart of Pacific Beach.

Close by is the Paradise Point resort (on Vacation Isle in Mission Bay). There you'll find the Barefoot Bar & Grill which has a "lagoon" with lots of fish, including a leopard shark, that I'm sure the young 'uns would enjoy seeing. www.paradisepoint.com

Enjoy!

A good breakfast spot in Pacific Beach is the Broken Yolk on Garnet. As the name suggests, eggs are the thing here with around 20 types on omelettes. Tasty and reasonable, open for breakfast and lunch only. Just a short drive from Mission Beach.
