East Coast family with teens needs vacation ideas
We are a New Jersey family with 2 teen boys looking for ideas for late April vacation. This is spring break for my kids so we only have 1 week.
We have been to Yellowstone, Bryce, Zion, and Grand Canyon National Parks, California, Seattle, Vancouver, Montreal, Boston, Florida, and Virginia Beach-Williamsburg. The boys hate city sightseeing and beach vacations; they tend to like to veg out with video games but will play golf and tennis, I love the western national parks. I'm out of ideas on where to go in the U.S. (don't have passports) since we only have the one week and the weather is iffy in many parts of the country. Any ideas? We can drive up to 7 hours or fly out of any NYC airport.
Thanks,
Robin

How about a resort that offers golf (for your kids) but also outdoorsy activities like hiking plus spa (for you)? I think Scottsdale has something of that sort, and probably other places in AZ or Santa Fe in NM. Or inland CA like Palm Springs.

South Beach... not for the beach, for the activity... then drive down the keys to Key West... sunset pier is fun and you can snorkel tour or sunset sail, try some sport fishing, golf or tennis... teens seem to like the beach volleyball, the girls, and even the action along Ocean drive... plenty to do for a week...

San Antonio, Texas and the Hill Country. Stay at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. http://hillcountry.hyatt.com/hyatt/h...sanhcredirect1
Plenty to do. Weather will be nice. May even still have some beautiful wildflowers in bloom. http://hillcountry.hyatt.com/hyatt/h...sanhcredirect1

Have you considered Club Med Sandpiper in Florida?
We've been to the Club Med in Ixtapa and have loved it. The Sandpiper resort is not on the ocean. They'll have all day sports programs and the resort has one of their Circus schools where you can try out the trapeze.
The Chief of the village is a Canadian, Jean-Marc DESY. He ran the Ixtapa club two of our three visits. Really nice guy. Very friendly, very efficient and on top of things.

Can't tell you what cost will be as they have various packages. Resort is near Port St. Lucie, closest airport is West Palm Beach which is an hour south. Orlando airport is two hours north.
Resort will probably have transportation so no need for a rental car - which in FL is a big money saver right now.
Might want to see if they have a teen club as some resorts do.
