Flying is no different now as it was before Sept. 11th! (Spoken only by someone who flew very little pre-Sept.11th and not at all since!)

To xxx,

Thommys or Tommies are the british ones ! We call them tommies, like
we rarly name US-citizens "Amies".
So - that is the secret.
How dou you (spitz)name germans?
potatoes ? (haha)
Would be interesting - Kiwis by the Way are people living in New Zealand.
hmm

Shain don't get mad, only sense you asked we call you crouts (after sour crout)but usually in gest sort of a hold over from WWII terminology, also sometimes "The GERRY'S" the later term is more dated. Did you mean how do you spell Germans?
...that is how we do it.

What is Tommies refering to. I read your response being British but why not call them brits how did the word Thommy come up? Not sure what Amies means either. Again read you use this to refer to Americans. Does the word mean "enemy", or something different just curious. Interested in Language.

How are things hanging in Duseldorf today? Rainy and foggy in NYC. World Economic forum is on, I saw some protestors marching behind a small band at lunch. There is an extraordinary presence of police.

Paid $32. (37euro)for 16 small cookies flown in from Paris to Park Avenue. They are a gift I hope the person oos and ahhhs over them!!!

Hi xxx,
actually I don t know what or where
Tommy comes from. But I guess it's the outfit they wore in WWII. Like they call they flag the UNION JACK!
Ammies comes from americans.
So theres nothing more behind it.
Well - today was already a very warm day
inD'dorf 15degress Celsius. But tomorrow
bright sun and over 18 +C, that much,
I cant remember of any warmer february day before.
I have read about the traffic jams and the security and that Mr Schröder opend the "Economoc forum". Well, that s nothing compared to munich now.
Because they expect to have hooligans or so with big troubles in the city because of the security congress.
They have water-cannons palced and banks and shops have been secured.
That will be interesting to watch when
stones will be thrown or molotov cocktails. I hope it will stay as calm as in NYC.

its mee,
we now have a CPD trade fair. That is nice,
because all the european designers are presenting their new fashion, with shows, parties and and lot of models running around.
Something for the Papparazzi this weekend.

Hi xxx,
well go for xxx,
I'm sorry, but I'm a bit underpressure, meanwhile we are discussing things ,
I wrote also on the european section and send an email for a FODORITE to plan a trip to Germany ...
Any in 20minutes have a meeting
in city center, so all in between.
However - I go rarely for skiing, since
I don not live anymore south of munich.
Live in düsseldorf for about 18months now (have been living here before too).
However - this moment the alps are far for me to drive to and next week will be reserved for friends coming from the south to celebrate "Karneval" in Düsseldorf - makes an probably excessive weekend.
Well go night for today until tomorrow,
beginning at 11am c.e.t.
See you and all the others.
Thank you and tschüss (bye)

This wasn't actually while traveling but a friend's sister-in-law, planning her first trip abroad, anxiously called my friend to ask if she'd made a mistake by planning three whole days in Paris. Would there be enough to do?

I am freckled and have not been bothered by this from an appearance perspective since I was a kid. I was in Egypt and a man was talking to me on a long distance bus. He obviously had never met anyone with freckles. He asked me if I had any sauve for my skin condition. As I am telling you it did not bother me I remember he was in the Egyptian army and he asked me what Americans thought of people choosing a military career. I responded well we usually think people choose that life when they have nothing else going on. OUCH I bite back too hard when the old ego is wounded. So one stupid remark one nasty remark.

A lady who was traveling from NY to Florida had a map with her. She put her fingers together from one point to the other and said, "they are only 'x' number of inches apart - NY from Florida. LOL

I was traveling with a tour group throughout the western states.
There was a man in our group, he was German, who every time we stopped at another location would jump out of the coach and yell, "Hallo, my name is Thomas".
As if anyone cared.
They didn't.
It got extremely dumb on the 9th or 10th go round.
