Assuming you are talking about the JW Marriott at 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, I just called them and asked if there were any drop-off laundries nearby and the response was "no, we don't have anything like that nearby."

Doesn't the hotel offer laundry service?

The hotel definitely has a laundry service. I think there's a dry cleaner on F & 13th NW, Melvin's, that also may offer laundry service. And I've seen all over DC a laundry service called Soapy Joe's which I think does pick up and delivery.

If what you're referring to as laundries is really dry cleaning, you might have more luck. There are several in that area, a couple on 14th Street NW, I think. You might ask the concierge at the hotel.

If you are looking for a wash-and-fold laundry, I think that is a service you'd find in a residential area but not so much in a business district like 14th and Penn. Logan Circle may be the closest spot with a collection of neighborhood-type services (grocery, hardware, etc.); it is a mile north of Penn. on 14th st.

Thanks for the replies - we're staying in Woodley Park later in our trip, so I will look for a drop-off there. I assume since that's more residential we'll have more luck in that area.

You will have more luck in the Cleveland Park area in general, I suppose. Don't expect some laundry to be running in downtown DC, they can't afford the rent on the real estate for that.
