Driving LAX to Palm Springs Help

Hi, can anyone tell me what kind of drive to expect, also how long it would take and if there are other options than driving.

Angeleno, I have paid for my ticket to Lax, so I am stuck. I will be leaving Lax around noon on a Saturday, and leaving Palm Springs around 7am on a Thursday.

The LAX-PS drive: I-105 East to I-605 North to I-10 East (this allows you to avoid downtown LA snarls). Take CA-111 into downtown PS. Saturday noon? Barring accidents and what-not, it should take you a bit over 2 hours.

Thursday 7AM? You will hit rush hour traffic, so I would allow at least another 45 minutes to an hour, so it could be a 3 hour drive. Out of PS, take Indian Canyon up to the I-10, then west on the I-10, then south I-605, then west on the I-105 into LAX (rental returns are marked, as I recall).
