Dress code for dinner at Commander's Palace?

I know jackets are preferred at dinner for the guys, but should the girls wear dresses or can we get away with jeans and a nice shirt?

Skip the jeans for Commanders as it's a nice restaurant. I saw ladies in slacks and dresses but don't recall any jeans.

According to their website, the only strictly enforced no-no is wearing shorts by either men or women. They prefer business casual dress (jackets preferred for men), and prefer that jeans not be worn, though they won't keep you out for these reasons.

That being said, dressing at least reasonably nicely here is a good idea.

I agree: skip the jeans.

I wouldn;t do jeans but a dress is not at all necessary. Just make sure the outfit (pants and a beautiful silk top with nice pumps are fine) is more than backyard casual.

Good idea to pack something other than jeans. I don't know where you are from or when you are going to NO, but it is hot and humid (last time I was there it was 80 at 6 AM in June) and I can't imagine anything worse than jeans in that kind of weather, wherever you eat.
