Downtown Detroit restaurant for a seven year old?
We're taking our seven year old grandson to the Fisher Theater Sunday for a matinee and want to take him to eat afterward. We eat out a lot downtown, but are at a loss where to go with him. I was thinking Coach Insignia, simply for the ride in the glass elevator to the top of the Ren Cen. But it IS pricey. Any other suggestions?

For a seven-year-old, few foods are more fun than a hot dog -- and downtown Detroit has had chili dog restaurants since World War ONE. And, with a hot dog, who cares if the kid doesn't want to finish it?

Can't recommend any specific one, since it's been almost 45 years since I've been to one. But I STILL remember how grown up I felt when I ate a hot dog with chili AND cheese -- it took a few years before my parents thought I could handle the combination!

We ended up at the Hard Rock - he's real picky about food and they had macaroni and cheese, which he loved so much he took home a doggy bag. We love coneys, but he doesn't eat the bun... Anyway, Hard Rock ended up being the perfect choice, he loved the decor and the music. An awesome place to take kids. Thanks for the replies!
