Doubletree Alana Hotel Waikiki

This hotel has great rates, but I am leary of "great rates" even with a Hilton! Does anyone know the pros/cons of the Alana? Will we regret not spending the $300 per night to be at the Outrigger Waikiki (or elsewhere?)?? Thanks!

The Alana is my hotel of choice now -- and I'm there at least every other month on business trips.

Well-located adjacent to (but not wallowing in) Waikiki, with all the amenities of any other fine hotel.

But if oceanfront is your dream, you'll want to book the Outrigger Waikiki.

Stick with the affordable hotels. You'll have $$$ left over for some activities, shopping, etc.

Well, the one con is that it is not oceanfront, if that's important to you. Otherwise, I've stayed there myself and liked it!

Oceanfront is not important. Is it true the gym equipment is old and rusty like I read on a review? Does anyone know? Is the pool really small or is it adequate? Thanks everyone.

We looked into the Doubletree Alana a few years back. Looks like a good deal to me.
