My husband, children and I are traveling to Disney and are staying off property. I am looking for some special restaurants, either off or on property to enjoy some meals with my husband (no children). Thanks!

We love the Blue Bayou in New Orleans Square. Request a water table, they are very nice.

The Napa Rose in the Grand Californian is one of the best restaurants in Anaheim, it is on our list for our next visit to the area. ***kim***

Wolfgang Puck's Grand Cafe in Downtown Disney is really nice (the upstairs formal dining room in particular...downstairs is more casual). They have a great tasting menu if you enjoy wine pairings. There is also an Emeril's in Orlando, which I really enjoyed. One of the finest steak houses in Florida also has a franchise in Orlando if you guys are big beef-lovers...it's my husband's favorite restaurant. http://www.charleyssteakhouse.com/

It's not cheap, but my wife and I had a very romantic, al fresco meal at Bice in the Portofino Hotel.

Sure, it's Orlando and not Italy so it loses something, but they did a nice job of recreating the harbor and if you time it right, you can enjoy the Opera singers from the hotel verandas.

If you are going to Disneyland in Anaheim, go to Catal (Disney Downtown). This to me is one of the best restaurants in town (Los Angeles) and I have been to hundreds. Get a reservation and be ready to taste some amazing food.

OK - are you talking DisneyLAND or DisneyWORLD? No clue from anything you wrote. Makes a huge (3000 mile) difference . . . . .

In the Disney Village Hotels, The Outback Restaurant - THIS IS NOT THE STEAKHOUSE CHAIN- is wonderful. I think it is in the Wynndam Hotel. The atmosphere is romantic- soft lights and a waterfall. The food and service are also great. I have eaten there every single trip to WDW. You do need a reservation!

I forgot to add in my previous email at the Outback - the butter is in the shape of a kangaroo, the servers are dressed in safari wear, and you get extras for free (onions rings and your individual loaf of bread)! We never go without having a romantic dinner there!

We always have dinner at California Grill in the Contemporary Hotel around fireworks time. We also enjoy Emerils in Universal Studios.

I agree with Calif Grill at the Contemp. Also, along the Boardwalk, either Flying Fish or Schula's Steakhouse. And finally, the most romantic atmosphere is at Hemmingway's at the Grand Cypress Hyatt. Enjoy!

For a wonderful off property dinner I would recommend "Christini's" on Dr. Phillips. Extraordinary Italian restaurant, very romantic but extremely pricey. On property I think that there is no better restaurant in all of DW than Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian.

When my husband and I went to Disney we were a bit dissapointed with the romantic dining. We went to some of the "fancier" restaurants at the park, and it was hard to maintain a romantic atmosphere when all around us were people in their "park" outfits (sweatpants, hats, fanny packs)....and strollers jammed beside the tables, kids running around.

I would say that "on-property" you have a better chance at a romantic atmosphere at one of the hotel restaurants (our nicest meal was at Artist's Point at the Wilderness lodge)...not a restaurant in the parks.

We love Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge; great South African wine list. The "cooking place" open kitchen area provides a spot where you can watch the cooking happen. We also love: the California Grill (Contemporary) and the Flying Fish (Boardwalk). Have fun!
