Dinner near the Hyatt (Maui)

Hi,

We are staying in Lahaina at the Hyatt for one night before heading to Wailea for the rest of our stay on Maui.

Where is a good restaurant for dinner that we could walk to from our hotel?

Thanks!

Erica,
The Hyatt in Kanapali, not Lahaina. The restaurants at the Hyatt are decent but if you want venture out, there are at least 100 posts on Maui dining.

Enjoy!

The Hyatt is in the Kaanapali Beach Resort Area which is not an incorporated town. Therefore, the "official" address for the Hyatt and other hotels and condos in the Kaanapali Beach Resort area is "Lahaina" which is the nearest town (three miles away).

We stayed at the Hyatt for a week last summer and loved it! I would recommend walking down to Whaler's Village and eating at Hula Grill...we ate there 3 times while we were there and loved it!

Actually, I would suggest staying IN the Hyatt and having a romantic dinner at the Swan Court Restaurant.

There is something else I would suggest, but it's not dinner. Make reservations with the Hyatt Concierge for a Tour of the Stars. Every night IF THE WEATHER IS CLEAR, they take a small group up to the roof where they have telescopes. An astronomer goes with you. You get to star gaze from the roof. I saw the moons of Jupiter and the rings around Saturn! It runs at either 8, 9 or 10pm during the week. On Fridays and Saturdays, there's also an 11pm showing for couples only, where they serve a glass of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It's between $20-$30 per person (I think), and a unique thing to do on your trip.

Another vote for Hula grill. And if you don't want formal, there barefoot bar serves great food. We ate there last night and it was awesome. Between the three of us, we had:
-BBQ sandwich
-Grilled Fish sandwich
-Burger
-chicken eggrolls

Great food and mai tais.

Also, very reasonable.

Have fun.
