Greektown casino is walkable as is a Greek restaurant called Pegasus, which is big, kinda themey, but I thought it was pretty good Greek food. They light cheese on fire and yell Opah! No throwing plates around, though. We went after the game...

The Hockey town cafe is almost right across the street. There is a Second City in the same building. Don't know if you have enough time for a show.
There is also a cute diner called Johnny Rockets across the street.
On the same street as Pegasus there are plenty of other Greek restaurants, bakeries, etc.
Have a great time!

motorcitygirl - I believe your Second City information is out of date. They closed that theater down more than a year ago. It opened up last year in Novi, quite a ways from downtown Detroit. Then again, JJ5 is a Chicagoan, so can get his fill of Second City there pretty easily.
Old Shalaleigh is an Irish pub in the Greektown neighborhood that people like. There are several Greek restaurants, as mentioned, and a popular deep-dish pizza place called Pizza Papalis (you could compare it to those in Chicago!). I'm not a fan of the pizza there, but everone else seems to think it's great.
You're really not far from the riverfront there, but I haven't walked between the two locations, so I'm not sure what the walk is like.
Detroit does have a people mover that could take you around a bit more than walking could. You can catch it at Greektown Casino.
There's a restaurant at the top of the Rennaissance Center with nice views of Detroit. It used to revolve, but I don't think it does anymore. It opened a year or so ago after remodeling, and I have no idea what the food quality is like now.
Sorry I don't have more details on most of those things, but hopefully that gives you some ideas to start with.

The restaurant at the top of the Renaissance Center is called Coach Insignia. It does not revolve. It is a very upscale (pricey) restaurant with excellent food. Other upscale restaurants in the RenCen are Andiamo's (excellent Italian food), Seldom Blues and the River Cafe in the Marriott Hotel. There is a PotBelly's (sandwiches) restaurant and a food court (food court is not exciting at all). There is a Sweet Lorraine's (casual, sitdown restaurant) in the Millender Center (attached by Skywalk to the RenCen).
Hope this is helpful.

Yes, it is. Thank you. I'm printing it out. There will be several more trips to Detroit and one will be for 3 days next year, I'm pretty sure. So what I don't use this time, I'll scope out for next.
We also will be going to the H.Ford Museum on the next go-around. It's only 2-1/2 hours on the road from my SW MI location.
Do you think we can get away with parking at the casino and going to the game/meal and 1/2 hour in the casino?

The views from Coach Insignia at the top of the Ren Cen are terrific. I just want to let you know that they do not open until 5pm. We went several weeks ago before a game and our out of town guests had a blast.
There are also several great bars located within or very near to Comerica Park. Check out Fifth Avenue Billards in Comerica(http://www.fifthavenuebilliards.com/.../detEvents.htm), Cheli's Bar (http://www.modeldmedia.com/developmentnews/chelis.aspx), the Town Pump Tavern right behind Hockeytown (http://www.thetownpumptavern.com/).
