You might find a float trip somewhere but white river rafting is nearly finished by August. The previous winter snow will have completely gone and by September winter will be returning to the high mountains.

well, I guess we'll be doing a raft trip at the snake river at the tetons so I can be satisfied with that. I'm just excited about making it back to Colorado so soon. Really had a fun time and the idea that this time I get the days free to really get to know the city is superb!

I just checked with a couple of rafting companies, they view Labor Day as about the latest they can go. The water in many areas will be so low that it can create some dangerous situations

The Snake will also be a float trip--at least in the Tetons. You could come to NC and have river rafting on the Nantahala or French Broad.

Actually, we will be there (Tetons) in end of August and are already scheduled for a raft trip. I've been before (few years back) and although it's not class IV or V, it's still about a III but definitely rapids and not a float trip and that was the first week of September when we were there last.

Oh, you said in the tetons. We did the float trip (and again scheduled for one) by Jackson Hole and I do remember and have pictures of our raft almost capsizing....
