,,,,, Don't need gourmet ,,,,, Assume that is the code word for not too expensive. With that in mind, our favorite, casual restaurant in LoDo is the Wazee Supper Club -- obviously on Wazee -- west end. In the same area -- Dixions Dowtown Grill is very good. Two modest Mexican places -- Crocs on Market and Limes in Larimer Sq. We prefer Limes and Crocs is more of a sports (lots of TVs) bar. Limes is exclusively Mexcan. Crocs is a mix. Across the street from Limes is Del Mar Crab House and The Market. In the same block is a gelato place which is as close as your are going to get to Italian gelato. Also in the same area PF Chang's and Rio Grande -- both chains but decent and reasonable.
McCormick's Fish House (the chain) has a great happy hour that will take care of dinner for a couple of bucks.
Back on the 16th Mall you have the Rialto Cafe and the Rock Bottom Brewery closer to your hotel.
Rioja is great but more expensive than the above but more than worth the price. The Denver Chophouse, previously mentioned, is good but more expensive. The Capitol Grill on Larimer is the best steak house in Denver but you will pay for it.
With the free 16th Street Mall shuttle bus, the whole downtown area including LoDo is geared towards walking. Parking is limited so leave the car behind.
This should get your started. If you don't like this list, I have a few more off beat places for you.

Regarding Lime (not Limes) on Larimer-- we have been there twice. We only went there the second time because we were in a bind. Our meals were two of the worst anywhere. I would not recommend that place. It's more a bar hangout than a decent place to eat.
Tamayo, at the corner of Larimer and 14th, is much better for Spanish food. But it's expensive.

I know it is personal opinion, but we have never been disappointed in Lime during the half dozen or more times that we have been there. It has a big bar but it is separated from the dining area. It does attract a younger crowd especially early in the evening. I agree that Tamayo is good but it is expensive. I assume the OP was looking for more moderately price restaurants with good food.

I know ---- but everytime we post it just kicks it back ot the top and more people read it. There is a number of other great places --- the Dipping Grill and Strings althought it is not in LoDo. Strings' Sunday night 5280 special is well worth it.

That could be tough. There are a lot of sports bars in the area but my guess is that they would be packed and noisy. I try Wazee. It has couple of TVs over the bar and some table seating right next to the bar. Crocs on Market across from the RTD hub might work. It is bigger with more tables. I try to think of some other places a little further away where you could park. We used to watch IU basketball at Zang Brewery over on 20th (?) just west of REI.
