Deadwood Gulch Resort (Days Inn)--South Dakota

Has anyone ever stayed here? What were your impressions? Are people truly gambling at the casino here ALL night long? Any advice about this place and/or the area is greatly appreciated!

We were there last summer. Not a bad place at all. Not up to premium Las Vegas standards, but not bad. We were on the ground floor, right by the casino. We were not up all night, so I can vouch that the casino was open all night, but I can say that if they were, it was always quiet in our room. The accoustics are excellent. Another thing that I liked was , the room had two doors. One that opened into the hall of the building, and another that opened right to our parking area. We loved Deadwood and the resort. Would gladly stay there again. The people there were very nice and happy to please.

Should have proofed...ment to say I can NOT vouch that they are open all night! Sorry.
Also, there is a lot to see in Deadwood, but not much parking. Go directly to the visitor's center and get a parking pass. It is in the center of town (think it was the old railroad station) and a comfortable walk all over town. I think it only cost 2$

Calista, we stayed at Deadwood Gulch Hotel, and we liked it. The staff was friendly, the rooms are nothing special, but that was OK because we weren't in the room very much. We did a lot of touring in the area during the day.

The Casino is not very large. It consists of 2 large rooms with slot machines and I think 1 BlackJack table.

We never heard any noise from the Casino, and we were also on the ground floor.

We have been to Deadwood twice and enjoyed it both times. Beautiful Country.

We did not stay at the Gulch but wished we had! We were in a Motel from Hell.... the Best Western on south edge of town. It was EVERYTHING youd NOT want. We complained to no avail....wrote the national office and the local Chamber of Commerce. Felt we should of had at least some of our room rate refunded. Rip off. Their attitude was "Tough". Dirty, no AC in July, no door locks, door jam was busted, no ice no cold drinks. Was the "last room in town" situation or we'd have driven miles for something else.
As for getting around town, which we loved very much and would have stayed on but for that room, the town has a trolley service that goes almost everywhere youd be interested in. Runs about every 15 min. or half hour as I recall. As parking is limited this is the ideal way of getting around. Enjoy Deadwood!

Is the Gulch Resort right in town?
To The Locals, keep safe from the fire. I will keep my fingers crossed for a bunch of rain for you.
Thanks,
Jan
