DC Restaurants - Which for a romantic dinner?
Hello - I'm looking for a recommendation for a romantic spot in DC for an engaged couple. A few of us are looking to buy them a gift certificate to celebrate their engagement. Thanks!

A few thoughts:

http://www.jaleo.com/
In each case, they may need to be carful about drinks - limiting wine to glasses or having beer or sangria insteaad.

Tabard Inn would be nice. They have nice patio outback and in the winter there is a fireplace. The times I've been to Marvin's, its been packed and VERY loud, so not sure how romatic that would be. Good food and fun atmosphere though. Jaleo's can also be hectic and noisy, but also good food. In Arlington, Willow is nice and u should be able to get by around $100. Petit Plats on Connecticut Ave is a possiblity. Firefly in Dupont Circle also might work

I like Jaleo's but the word romantic never would have entered my mind about it. It's a loud, noisy, hectic fun place with Spanish food (tapas), so doesn't even fit your criteria of food type. Tabard Inn is a nice place. I think Bistro Francais in Georgetown is moderately prices and kind of romantic, I guess, in that dark cozy restaurant way.
