mlgb, Thanks for the info. The Cabrillo National Monument website is working for me today. I think they were having an issue.

Thanks so much for all of your replies. I think we have decided to take the route suggested by http. If we happen upon a winery then it will be a bonus. Can't wait to see the scenery!
