Dallas for one night

A co-worker and I (both female) will be in Dallas end of September and will have an open Wednesday night. We are flying in that day and eventually will end up in Irving, TX. Is there anything fun we can do while we are there?

Well, the STate Fair of Texas is opening Sept. 26th. www.bigtex.com

You could just go down to Deep Ellum for dinner and music/dancing.

I don't really care for WestEnd, having grown up in Dallas, but for a first timer it might be worth a visit, and a stop at its bars.

I'll second the recommendation for Cool River. It is a great place!

I'm a big fan of the State Fair, but it's not a good place to be after dark, especially for 2 females who are unfamiliar with the city.
