Crater Lake Loding
I'm planning a visit to Crater Lake and I'm requesting recomendation on lodging, prefer to be as close as possible to the national park, but not too expesive (if at all possible). Also, I'm thinking of spending a coule of days, what would be the recommended minimum days. It appears that this national park would be worth a couple of days of hiking, photography, etc.

The Prospect Hotel in the little town of Prospect is one of my favorite places to stay-
the hotel itself is more B and B like but they have units in the back that are like a regular motel- rooms clean and reasonable and the food at the hotel is great.
Its an easy ride into the park

A few years ago we stayed at Mazama Village Motor Inn, which is actually inside the Park. In retrospect, I wish we'd forked out the extra to have stayed in The Lodge. And, if not The Lodge, I'd opt for either the Prospect Hotel or Steamboat Inn, though both are a ways away from the lake.
Most tourists just do drive-by kind of visits. You can easily get around the lake in 2-4 hours, stopping at most of the viewpoints. If you want to add some hiking and/or the boat ride, plan to spend a night or two, but not more.

We stayed at Steamboat Inn last summer and loved it. It is about an hour from Crater Lake (if I remember correctly) - but an easy drive with lots of waterfalls and beautiful scenery along the way. An amazingly beautiful area. Here are some photos from our trip.
