Condos next to Kauai Hyatt

Hi Kauai experts! My husband and I are dreaming of our next Kauai vacation...our first with a little boy. We normally like to stay in a condo/rental, but last time we stayed at the Hyatt. The Hyatt was lovely. Every morning we got coffee and took to the walking paths that head west a mile or two. On our walks we passed a couple of lovely condo complexes that were really close to the Hyatt. Close enough that it would be a few minutes walk to the Hyatt for dinner or coffee or whatever. When I look at the aerial photographs on the Wizard Pub website (Ultimate Kauai Guidebook) they don't seem to show up. The ones just west of the Hyatt on the map don't seem like the ones I remember and I don't see the walking path in front of the property so it looks like they are farther west. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I'm off to Google map the situation, but you guys might be more help! Thanks so much.

The condo immediately to the right of the Hyatt is Poipu Sands. That complex is the closest. The oceanfront units there look down at the Hyatt and Shiowrick beach. Right next to the Poipu Sands is the Embassy Vacation something or other. They are a little higher up on the cliffs. The path that goes through Poipu Kai goes past many condo developments. If I recall correctly, as one leaves the Hyatt, the path first goes through a greenbelt with private homes on either side, then crosses a small street and that's when the condos start. I would look at Poipu Sands and see if that is the one you are thinking of. Hope this helps.

Go to www.pspercy.com, click on the last tab "The End", I put a couple of Poipu Kai etc layouts there that we got from Suite-Paradise.com

Might help ID the ones you remember.

Maybe your talking about the Point at Poipu. It used to be called the embassy suites poipu. Its a nice complex just west of the hyatt on Makahuena point.

You might also want to look into staying at one of the homes on the Greenbelt next to the Hyatt. We stayed at one called Ocean Delight. It is very close to the Hyatt, about a two minute walk to the Anara Spa. And it has a deck that faces the Ocean. For us it was perfect. We rented it through http://www.parrishkauai.com/ This agency has many homes and condos on the South side/Poipu area. Right now the islands are suffering from a poor economy, so ask for their best rate, don't just go from what is on the website. I have been able to get off season rates during the peak seasons.
Either way, you will have more room and save a bundle over the Hyatt's rates.
