Cleveland-Labor Day Weekend

Hubby & I are going to Cleveland Labor Day weekend. We are staying at the Hyatt Regency Arcade. Are there any cheap overnight parking places that we can just leave the car at while we are there? We arrive Fri and leave Monday. Planning on maybe going to the Taste of Cleveland on Friday to see Buddy Guy (we are from Chicago, any idea how this compares to our Taste??). Sat is the air & water show and probably an Indians game on Sunday. Any input as to where to sit, park, etc would be appreciated.

Checking out tickets for Indians game. Do you know if it's better to sit in section 128A row E for $27 each(baseline box) or section 162C Row CC for $40 each (field box)?

Well I got the tickets to the game. Now can someone please give me some parking suggestions? Maybe a restaurant or 2 to hang out before or after the game on Sunday? Info on the air & water show. Pretty please?

I just did a search and there are previous questions/answers about Cleveland that may be helpful to you.

Amie-I also did a search. Most of the posts were pretty old and I didn't see anything about parking. Thanks though!

Have you asked the Hyatt about parking? I'd be very surprised if they don't provide it (for a fee). Good location (next to the BP building) and there are many garages in the area.

Jacobs field has many parking areas nearby also, ranging from $20 - $7, but hopefully you can find a place for the long weekend.

There are many fun, reasonable restaurants around the Jake which have been discussed here recently (and they actually haven't changed much in the last year.) Lower box seats are $38 and are sometimes available, but even the bleachers are great at the Jake. Have fun!!

Audra-
The Hyatt does have parking but I was looking for something cheaper than $20 per day. Thought maybe there would be alot nearby that we can leave our car the whole time. I know if I call the Hyatt, they will only tell me about their parking. Thanks for the info about the restaurants. What's your favorite upscale restaurant in the area?

Hello! I logged on looking for information about Santa Fe, but caught the Cleveland post and thought I'd give my 2 cents. Parking garages and lots are all over downtown Cleveland (sorry can't be more specific) but you should be able to find something close to your hotel for about $10/day. My favorite fabulous downtown upscale restaurants: Mallorca (Spanish & Seafood), Blue Point (Seafood), Johnny's Downtown (continental) and Frank & Pauly's (Italian) Have fun!

I would have hoped the hotel could have been more of a help to you with information. There are alot of parking garages in the city and i think something might be cheaper that the price you were quoted. I really enjoy Johnnies downtown. I never went to the taste of Cleveland but you may want to hit Cleveland.com and see if anybody can help you in their forum or chat area. Good luck.

Hi HB, my favorite upscale restaurant is Blue Point Grille in the Warehouse District. Truly exquisite food and presentation without a hint of stuffiness.

BTW, Taste of Cleveland is great fun and I've been told it's similar to Chicago. (Cleveland is often described as a smaller Chicago, with many similarities.) Be sure to make time for a stop at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Have a great time!

Hampsterbrain:

I just came across some info on an overnight parking lot in downtown Cleveland. It is fairly close to the Hyatt and the man I just spoke with says that the overnight rate is $8.00, significantly less than the $21 Hyatt valet parking. Here is the name and address of the lot:

Ampco Syst Parking
Euclid Prospect Garage
740 Euclid Ave
Cleveland, OH 44114-3005
Phone: (216) 861-3021

It's worth a shot.

By-the-way,

Here is the URL for the site where I got the info -- it also lists the other lots in downtown Cleveland run by this same company. They offer maps and directions as well:
