Cleveland Inquiries

Husband and I (in our 70's) will be visiting Cleveland Clinic for an overnight next week for appointments. Will be staying Tru by Hilton on Euclid. Could you tell me a good area, within a few miles, to walk around mid-afternoon into evening with multiple food choices, especially all American type food. Even a great burger would be good, non-fast food. Also, are there any areas that are not real safe to walk around, going into evening. Thank you very much.

Hi LadyVic

It's been a number of years since I've been to Cleveland but the Little Italy neighborhood is not too far from your hotel with some dining options that may appeal. There's a lot around there that was pleasant to explore, such as the stellar Cleveland Museum of Art, Case Western building, Wade Lagoon and Botanical Gardens. I also liked the Ohio City part of town with the West Side Market offering food options, with the blocks immediately surrounding having character.

Best wishes, Daniel

Little Italy felt safe walking around. We had great meals at Mia Bella.
We also liked Li Wah, Chinese, where we enjoyed all of our meals.

P.S. I don’t know which hospital you will be going to at the CC. We were at their Heart Hospital for a week and the food on the first floor offered some decent choices including a Panera Bread. They have a food court that had a good middle eastern restaurant, Aladdin, freshly made foods. And adjacent to the hospital, the restaurant Table 45 in the Intercontinental Hotel was very good.
We had a rental car so were able to get to the restaurants I mentioned earlier upthread.
Good luck with your medical visits. The CC is an incredible medical center.
