Not first hand information but found this in Timeout New York and Quikbook. Sounds like a nice hotel.
Neither a boutique hotel nor a full-blown luxury palace, City Club aims to be something in between. Guests will find a blend of high fashion and contemporary comfort in the Jeffrey Bilhuberdesigned rooms in mahogany, chocolate marble and bronze, and the personalized service characteristic of small European hotels. Rooms also feature original works by contemporary collage artist Richard Giglio. If you prefer edible art, chef Daniel Boulud's db bistro moderne, the hotel's restaurant, serves American classics with a French twist.

Room services CD and DVD players. Cordless phone. Internet access.
