Chicgal-got a Chicago question for you
Hey Chicgal- I've read several of your Chicago posts and I must say I'm very impressed. I just posted another question regarding a "girls night out" hotel suggestion.
Would you please read it and give me your thoughts? I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Great idea Chicgal. Thanks for reply. BTW, where is Merry Ol'??
I was able to get $161.00 for the Westin. I think that's pretty descent, don't you? (for a Mich. Ave.)
Have you ever seen House of Blues or Hotel Monaco? Both looked rather fun.

I've got another suggestion, to go along with that spa day package idea from Chicgal, bid on a NMA hotel on Priceline (4* NMA hotels are going for about $65-70 on Priceline, check out www.biddingfortravel.com first), save even more money and get them a LEYE gift certificate. There are several good restaurants near NMA including Joe's Stone Crab (awesome crab cakes), Wildfire for steaks and chicken, Brasserie Jo for French bistro, etc. Reservations are a must for most of those on the weekends.
www.leye.com is the website

Actually it's me that hijacked the post, sorry
Chicgal, I saw your trip report over on the Europe board. I've been to Bath before and swore that I was going to stay mostly in London on this trip so I booked the entire hotel stay in London so that I would not swerve from my course, well, except for that daytrip out to Warwick ;-)
OK, I promise to behave now and only talk about Chicago. Katiekate, if you are looking for a hipper hotel, you might also check out the Hard Rock Hotel on Michigan. It's almost brand new, in the cool old Carbon and Carbide building, just on the other side of the river from the Mag Mile shopping area so it's still in a safe area.

I looked and looked for discounts to the Shedd before we went last year, the discount days are in the off season, Oct-Feb on Mon and Tues.
Also not well publicized, if you just want to see the Aquarium, not the Wild Reef or Oceanarium, admission is $8 for adults, $6 for kids.
