I thought of two more movies:
1. Adventures in Babysitting - a cute movie with the last few scenes shot on the outside of the Stone Container Building.
2. Ordinary People - an oldie but a goodie. Robert Redford won an Oscar for Best Director.

High Fidelity, of course! Even though the book was set in London, it still worked great set in Chicago. On the DVD, John Cusack explains why he had it moved to Chicago. Lots of great Chicago scenes and a terrific, funny movie.

Citylghts -- That reminds me of the scene in "While you were Sleeping" when Sandra Bullock walks back to her house Bill Pullman from downtown. I don't know of any CTA token collecters that living within walking distance of Merchandise Mart(and now they don't even have tokens, I sort of miss them).

They do that constantly on ER. They are out at the Lake front talking by a park bench near Mus.of S.&I. and then they are walking back to the downtown ER (Cook County Hospital) area. LOL!
One time they had a code red on the ambulance rotation with 3 or 4 main characters all going to Cermak & Roosevelt (two streets going in the same direction and they have no intersection) and another time it was downtown at LaSalle and Wabash (same thing with streets in the other direction).
With all the money they spend, you'd think that they would get more of the details correct. Well, it's fantasy.

I'm thinking that Lake Shore Drive is probably the area that I'm thinking about perhaps?
Is there a walkway by the waterfront with the skyline on the other side? Is there a walking bridge nearby?
This is the area that I'm trying to find.

Did anyone mention "The Weatherman" with Nicolas Cage? Lots of lots of scenes in Chicago, mostly in the downtown business district, I think his office is somewhere on Wacker Drive.
Toronto oftens fills in for Chicago, the movie "Chicago", ironically, was one of the movies filmed in Toronto...
