Chicago on Alert - Should we have a GTG here?

chicgal, Chicago is a city I have never been to and have always wanted to visit there. Kal mentioned something to me about this. When is the Chicago Marathon? You can tell how ignorant I am about Chicago

In other words dear one, yes, I am very interested!!

Alohaaaa...we're back from our "tears and beers" good bye tour.

Oct 9th is the marathon.
we are thinking of coming back either Thursday/Friday 10-6th/7th and staying thru Weds/Thurs.

If we have it on Fri/Sat night, Oct 8th, Mrs K can't party if she's running.
Hmmmmmmm..... :-?

chicgal, yes, yes, yes...

Been thinking the same thing. Too many east coast & west coasters need to find middle ground for a GTG... Sweet home Chicago is perfect.

Mr. Makai & I are there, and would be more than willing to help organize.

We're in Antioch, but consider Chicago "Sweet Home"...

Let's do it!

DH and I are considering running this marathon as well. However it may be sometime in May before we decide; and hope they don't reach the max by them . We would love to join you guys and meet the (in) famous Kal.
The evening of the marathon (Sunday) will also work well for us.

Chicgal, regardless of what time or day-count me in. I'll take a train or whatever and I'll be there. I would love to meet you especially, as you are a boon to the "City of the Century."

What a nice Happy New Year piece of news. Hope we can all meet in 2005.

I'm game! Chi Gal, I'm still not convinced your not Mayor Daley's "plant" on this board but more power to you! I will not be running the marathon but hopefully we'll be cheering on the SOX next Oct. (in a Sox/Cubs series of course!)

Count me in! We had several Chicago gatherings years ago at Cafe Iberico but they were tough to organize and I think very few of those folks are still lurking on the boards.

I will keep my eye on this board to see if GTG happens-I owe Chicgal a drink for all of her suggestions I've used.
