Chicago bus question/North Pond
I was trying to figure out how to get from the Cultural Center (Randolph/Michigan) to North Pond tomorrow afternoon for lunch. When I use the CTA trip planner (using the LP Zoo as my end point since it doesn't seem to recognize street addresses) it's sending me on a 151 Sheridan bus but then I check the bus schedules and there is a 151 Sheridan-OWL but no 151 Sheridan.
Can someone confirm this is the right bus and that I can pick it up at Randolph/Michigan and that I can get off at Stockton/Webster near the zoo?
Has anyone had lunch at North Pond? The menu looks a lot smaller but the prices more reasonable.
Thanks!

Yes, the 151 can be boarded on Michigan near Randolph. The stop may be on the NE corner but look for the bus stop sign and check that the 151 is listed. It does run on Stockton near the LP Zoo.
I would allow an hour for the bus - waiting and riding.

Kristi, just pick up the #151 in front of the Prudential building. It will take you up to right up to North Pond. (I believe the stop you want is Arlington, but check with the bus driver.)
Or, if you would like a little walk, get off at Fullerton, cross north--take the path between the Nature Museum and the lagoon (to your right) and walk north - it's about three blocks.

Kristi, I did a brief check on the CTA site and they are saying that the stop is Diversey/Sheridan - Lakeview/Cannon. (Whatever THAT means.)
I know that Diversey/Sheridan isn't the closest one. The Diversey/Sheridan stop is just to the north of Diversey on Sheridan--North Pond is south of Diversey. There is another stop between North Pond and Diversey (just kitty-corner southeast from the Elks Memorial), just to the north of North Pond less than a block (sorry, don't remember the name). Just watch the lagoon and you'll know when you are approaching because North Pond is on the north shore of it.
If you get off at that stop to the north of North Pond, you just have to come back south and take the little path to your left (on the south side of the playground there).
Hope this makes some sense to you.

Thanks everyone! I'm actually familiar with where I am going, just don't ride buses very often. I put in the LP Conservatory and they said to get off at Fullerton & Stockton which will be 2 blocks or so from North Pond since it's at 2600 N. I've actually been by North Pond so I know where it's at and it is a lovely walk from Fullerton to there so I think that's what we'll do.

The 151 is the workhorse bus of that neighborhood. They run frequently but are slow because they make so many stops. It's easy to get to the two places you've mentioned, although the CTA trip planner is confusing! There are no cross streets listed because the 151 runs through the park at that point - the cross streets stop a block west at Lakeview.
As you go north, you'll see the lagoon, with the restaurant and playlot at the north end. Any stop between Fullerton and Diversey is a short walk; St. James would be the closest cross street.
