Cheap/Mid-range Maui accomodations for single guy

Hi, I'm traveling to Maui for work where I'll be put up in a 4 star hotel for a week, but I'm taking some extra time and need to find another hotel to stay on my own dime.

I'm a late 20s guy (single) and traveling alone and am a bit worried that Maui is just too "honeymoon-centric" for me to have a fun time. I'd like to hear some recommendations on fun hotels with a young vibe that would be good for somebody who likes to be outdoors and maybe go out and party at night. I'm not a surfer but am a big cyclist, backcountry skier, snowboarder, etc so I do like that surfer vibe.

Anybody know any hip hotels, cheap hotels, party hotels, young hotels, or fun hostels? I'm definitely not afraid of hostels, as I'm pretty social and always like to meet new people. I will have a car. I'd like to keep things below $200/night, and would very much appreciate keeping the tab well below that figure.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention that I need a hotel for 2 nights only, so I think condos are "out".

Also I probably wouldn't want to stay at a hostel because I'd like some privacy.

I don't have a hotel that specifically fits your description, but I really had fun in Lahaina (town).

Maybe stay in Kaanapali? The Kaanapali Beach Hotel sometimes has really good deals. You'll be near Lahaina, and there's always a bunch of people walking along the beach path at night.

Take a look at the Pioneer Inn, The Lahaina Inn or the Plantation Inn, all located in Lahaina.

Second the reply for the Pioneer Inn. Got a good bar, right in the middle of Lahaina town, take a look at it.
