Cheap hotel in La Jolla?

I have a wedding to attend in La Jolla in April. I've got a tight budget, so I'm looking for suggestions for inexpensive lodging (under $100/night) in La Jolla or somewhere close by that is safe and pleasant. Thanks in advance and happy new year!

Hey aggiegirl..
The cheapest hotel in the heart of downtown LJ is a great little place that should work well for you..
LJ Village Lodge is in a great location where you can go to restaurants/bars and the beach.
Rates are around $100 or less, especially for April.

Thanks for the suggestion. I called and the rates are $130/night plus tax, so that's going to be over my budget, unless I can get a fellow wedding guest to share a room with me (don't know if I want to do that).

Any other suggestions fodorites?

Hey Aggie..
I live in LJ and not much for the way of cheap hotels but check out the Holiday Inn Express or Travelodge on LJ Blvd..
There is another hotel in Bird Rock but I can't remember the name..
Good luck!

The Best Western La Jolla used to be around $100/night but like everything else, it's gone up. If you're going to have a car, you could stay nearby.

The Ramada Suites Carlsbad (aka Ramada Legoland by the Sea) appears to be $89-99/night. The location is
751 Macadamia Drive
Poinsettia exit off I-5
Carlsbad, CA 92011

It gets pretty good reviews on tripadvisor. You can check out on maps.google.com or mapquest.com how far it would be from the wedding venue.

Best Western Inn by the Sea in LJ has some great deals but I doubt it would be for $100 but it doesn't hurt to call and ask..
Thought of another place that is darling and pretty cheap and it's across from the LJ cove..
La Jolla Inn..

The La Jolla Beach Traveledge is listed in the Southern California AAA Tour Guide as starting at under $100. I arbitrarily plugged in April 12/13 and got a rate of $89.95, $99 something with tax. The telephone number is (858)454-0716.

Will you have a car?
You may find something a little further a field but would need a car to get into LJ.
