Hi Red
There really isn't a hotel within walking distance of the Mint Museum of Art (on Randolph Rd)...the Museum of Craft+Design is uptown, so your hotel options would be better there, if your main goal is walking distance to one of these museums.
Will you have a car? Just as an FYI, these two museums are not within walking distance of each other. You can take the bus (visit www.charmeck.org for schedules).
You might look into the Dunhill, which is across the street from the Craft www.dunhillhotel.com - but there are Hiltons, Hyatts and Marriotts uptown as well.

It's fairly new, it's nice, but it's on the edge of uptown, so it's a bit of a walk to most restaurants/nightlife and the Museum of Craft and Design. The Marriott or Omni are much closer if that's important.
If you don't care exactly where you stay uptown, Priceline may be a good option.

Brian,
Thanks for the response. I'm inclined to the Westin since we have Starwood points. According to their website it is .4 miles from the Mint craft museum. Thats very doable for us as long as the neighborhood that its in is nice.

The neighborhood is fine - no issues there. There's a large construction project going on near the Westin but that shouldn't be a big problem.
The Westin is a good choice - I only recommend folks who really want to be in the thick of the action to look elsewhere.
