We love this place! Each room is a suite. It is secluded with wildlife roaming through. No tipping is allowed, as it is already included. Service is fantastic. Pool is special.
The only "downfall" is that is about 6 miles from Carmel, so there is no ocean view. However, the upside of that is that the weather tends to be warmer.

Stayed there several days in March and enjoyed it. The golf course is beautiful, as well as the scenery. Service was good. My only complaint is the food (both room service and restaurant) was NOT good; however there were good restaurants and coffee houses nearby. Don't miss the little shopping village in the town.

Sorry, can't help you with restaurant names. We were vacationing with teen kids and not looking for upscale dining. There were several sandwich, pizza, coffee, etc.type places in the village and all were fine.Nice shops and a great little jazz radio station/music shop in the village. While sight-seeing, we ate at Nepenthe (Big Sur).Although the view was spectacular, the mediocre food was outragously priced (keep in mind I was feeding a 6'3" 17 yr. old!).The Ventana Inn has a lovely restaurant(previous trip).Several places in Carmel are wonderful. The desk at Carmel Valley Ranch was extremely helpful with suggestions and they can give you much more info.We had a wonderful time and hope you do also!

You can easily drive into Carmel for dinners if you want. Ask the concierge for directions to Robert's Bistro, the Baja Cantina, and the Rio Grill. None of them are far and the drive is flat and easy. The food at Quail Lodge is quite good--I think it's called the Covey, the restaurant. We had a business meeting at Carmel Valley Ranch so the food was not from the menu. Don't remember it being bad. The resort is quite lovely, but it tends to be hot in the valley in the summer, but May should be good. Actually less fog than in Carmel itself. Chateau Julien is a pretty winery to go to for tastings. One little restaurant on Carmel Valley Road was Corkscrew Cafe--wonderful local wine list, make reservations--small and popular.
