Car Service from EWR to Midtown

I will be flying into Newark and staying at the Waldorf. It seems from reading other posts that a car service is the best option from the airport to the hotel.

Do the NY car services work like they do in other cities where someone will meet me with a sign in baggage claim? The service web pages seem to have transportation fees and waiting fees. Do I just guess the time I will have my luggage and request that time rather than request by my flight's arrival time?

There are 2 prices.

For the lower price - as listed on the web sites - you reserve a car in advance - but then call when you land and a car is sent to pick you up. Unless traffic is awful the wait isn;t that long.

If you want "meet and greet" service (someone waiting with a sign) you will pay a higher base price and will also be charged waiting time if your plane lands late.

Sorry - minimum to NYC is about $60. If you want meet and greet it's more like $100 or up if they have to wait.

NO!!!

Don't take the shuttle. The Super Shuttle in the NYC area airports takes forever and is a giant PIA.

Call Dial 7 (212-777-7777) they are constistently good and on time.

I also use Dial 7 for EWR transfers ... www.dial7.com

I call when the first bags start coming out .. and I rarely wait more than a few minutes on the curb.
