I recently went to NYC. I travel solo. I used Super Shuttle. It was fine and was very much as expected. They do tend to pack the van, but that may depend on the time you arrive. You can call 1-800-bluevan and inquire and reserve if you wish. You might also try a discount code at http://www.retailmenot.com/view/supershuttle.com and go to the Super Shuttle site and book it there http://supershuttle.com/

Just take a cab. The flat rate is $45 plus tip and toll for a total of about $60.
The Super shuttle is NOT reliable - often drags you around Manhattan for an hour dropping people at other hotels - and sometimes misses pick ups completely.
The shuttle bus to a central point will cost $17 per person plus a dragging your luggage through the street or gabbing a cab to a hotel.
After midnight I wouldn't be in the mood to fool around - just grab a cab.

agree, get in a cab.If for some strange reason there are no cabs call Carmel car service 212 666-6666.They are very reliable and probably the same price as a cab. When you have your luggage call them and they arrive in 5 minutes.I would rec. a reservation prior to your arrival.I use them all the time.Still think the best thing to do is get in a cab.

I saw the post from the person who had a bad experience with the Carmel car service! Not sure if I want to take a chance with them!
We will be flying in from the west coast. I am sure I will be tired after the long flight. I just want someone there to pick us up and take us to the hotel! If that means taking a limo service I will pay. Maybe I should ask what is a good reliable Limo Comany

Dial7.com is similar to Carmel but recently has been getting better reviews. Both cos. use cars/drivers that own their own vehicles so quality of car cleanliness is not always uniform. YOu can opt to pay for a luxury sedan that will guarantee a newer car.
If what you want is someone waiting with your name on a sign as you get to baggage claim, that's called meet and greet and you will pay quite a bit extra for that including wait time should your plane be late and also parking for the driver. I'd just take a taxi myself, but don't know from where you're flying.

Carmel and Dial 7 are both car services - driver-owned sedans - with the pluses and minuses that means. Cost of a car service is about the same as a cab - $60 to midtown.
There are corporate limo services with beautiful new cars and drivers with uniforms - but the price will be about double that of a car service.
