can you walk from Kaanapali to Lahaina?

I know there are "paths" along the beach in front of the hotels in Kaanapali (and in other areas). Do these paths continue into Lahaina....or is it possible to walk from one to another without walking along the main highway? If so, how far is the walk and how long would it take?

There are no paths from the Kaanapali Beach area to Lahaina like there is along the hotel line. The shoreline is not always sandy and accessible along there either. I would say the walk would be 4 to 5 miles

Thanks, Susie. I think I heard about a shuttle from our hotel to Lahina. We're staying at the time-share units ala Marriott so it sounds like a short ride.

We stayed at the Marriott Ocean Club in Nov. We rented a convertible as we didn't want to be without a car.

Suzie- We are staying at the Marriott Ocean Club this Nov. and renting a car. You indicated in this post that you were there in Nov also. Do you have any recommendations for activites you liked
at that time of year. Or, conversely, what you liked least? We will be there over Thanksgiving with our two boys, 12 and 8. How was the water temp? Did you snorkel? We hope to try kayaking. Thanks.

We went the week before you are heading there. Took our two kids who were 8 & 12 at the time. They loved the location and the pool. The weather was perfect and there were no crowds. We left on Friday so we did see things start to build for the Thanksgiving break. Funny thing was all the Christmas decorations were being put up. It's kinda different to think of Christmas in such a warm climate. Lots of the decor was wintery just like on the mainland!!

We went on a snorkel trip to Molokini on the Four Winds. We totally loved it. The captain and crew were terrific, always making sure everyone was having a good time. The boat was clean and in good condition. The food was great. Tehy BBQ hamburgers and chicken for sandwiches and if you get in line early you might even snag the few mahi mahi they cook up. We weer snorkeling so we missed that. I would suggest that you wait on the boat while the other guests snorkel, eat the yummy food and then when everyone gets back on board to do lunch then snorkel. We noticed that after lunch hardly anyone was in the water. On the way back we saw tons of turtles. The captain lets the younger kids drive the boat and they really like that. Our 8 yo was first to drive it but she got nervous after a while as though we' go off course!

We thought the water temp was fine. But that's a personal judgement. Grew up at the beaches in S CA and the water there is very cold though it didn't keep us out of the water.

Better snorkeling at Ulua beach adjacent to the Renassiance in Wailea. Nice beach, has bathrooms and shower faciclities.

For sure try to eat at teh restaurant in the hotel VA Bene. It was fantastic. On a luau night you get eh music and "jokes" for free as the restaurant is right next door.

Whe we were there the pool cafe (which is terrific btw) offered their mugs for something like $21 but you can refill them for the entire stay with soda or coffee. Good investment if you spend a lot of time at the hotel.

Have a great time!!
