Can you tell me anything about Redwoods and/or Crescent City, CA?

DH and buddy are planning to stay there on their road trip and quickly see the Redwoods. Any travel tips for the area?

They are planning to stop by Avenue of the Giants. And maybe Trees of Mystery (I think that is what it is called).

Any notable diners or food stops along the 101?

Crescent City is a bit of a disappointment; however, the drive from Crescent City to Eureka is beautiful.

The Best Western in Garberville has large rooms and there is a steakhouse a few miles away that will please DH if he is a meat eater.
