Camden accommodations

I'm hoping someone can tell me which inn/hotel in Camden would be the most luxurious and quiet and still have good water views. Thanks very much.
Same question for Bar Harbor, by the way.

Take a look at sunrisepoint.com for Camden, though it's not right in Camden walking distance to shoppes. For the good water view, you really have to move outside of the crowded downtown area.

For BH, consider bluenoseinn.com or balancerockinn.com

Thanks for the suggestions, tracy. In fact, we actually stayed at Sunrisepoint when we were in the area some years ago-- we thought it was great, exactly what we were looking for. I thought it might be nice to stay in Camden this time, though not unless we can find the kind of thing we're looking for. Even if we can't be as close to the water, would there be somewhere in town that has good views and fine rooms and that'd be good and quiet?
Also, can you tell me how Bluenose and Balancerock compare to Bar Harbor Inn? (And what's the Canoepoint place like?)
Do you have any suggestions about where to stay in the Portland and Kennebunk areas? Or Ogunquit?
(Since I know I can trust your taste-- because of the Sunrise suggestion-- I'm bothering you for more suggestions.
Thank you!

In Kennebunkport I have stayed at both the Captain Lord Mansion and Bufflehead Cove. Both are absolutely wonderful!!

The nicest place I've found in Camden is the Inn at Ocean's Edge. Like with most places in the area the bay views are exquisite. But the best features are the absolutely gorgeous horizon-edge swimming pool, and the accessibility of the fine-dining restaurant next door (the name of which escapes me at the moment). It's just up the road from Sunrise Point, so not downtown, but I havent found a better place to stay in the area.

jop4: Thanks so much for your post. The website for Ocean's Edge looks wonderful. Would you suggest staying at the main inn or in that hilltop building? And do you think the suites are worth the extra money, or are the rooms more than adequate?
Also wondering why you like Ocean's Edge better than Sunrise Point. And is the restaurant there as good as some of those highly touted Camden restaurants?
Thanks!

Sorry about the delayed response...

The restaurant is as good as it gets in the area. Its not a place you'd want to eat every night, although I believe they have a more casual menu now in addition to their fine dining one. The food and the ambience are far more elegant than you find anywhere else, there isnt a better spot in the area.
