cabin recommendations for the Shenendoah Valley
Our family is planning a brief trip to the Shenendoah Valley and then Monticello. The girls (17,15,9) are interested in staying in a cabin while Mom and Dad would prefer having the ammenities of a nice hotel. We can compromise and do a day or two of both.
Internet searches have found: Fort Lewis and Three Sisters. I was wondering if anyone was aware of those cabins in particular or could recommend any others.
Thanks for any input

The Washington Post travel section did a story a while back about a club that has cabins along the Appalachian trail that might interest you:
Membership in the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (703-242-0315;
www.patc.net) is $30 a year, and cabins rent for $15 to $55 per night.
Twelve of the PATC cabins are let out to members and the public; 16,
including Highacre, are for members only.
Also the Post has a regoinal guide where you can find lots of info on the area. www.washingtonpost.com

Thank you for the responses. Using your suggestion for the search was somewhat fruitfull. The site for Potomic App. Trail was a bit too rustic for our taste. Let's put it this way: if I could find a rustic looking cabin with turndown service and fancy soaps/shampoos/chocolates-we'd all be happy.
Thanks for your suggestions.
