Cab from newark to times square
In looking into flights for december, it looks like i can get better rate flying into newark as opposed to JFK or LGA. I'm trying to find out about how much it would cost to take a cab from newark to times square.
thanks.

Probably more like $55-60 with tolls and tip. You might be better off with a car service such as Carmel, www.carmellimo.com.
LGA is much more convenient and has a better on-time record (as of last quarter) than EWR (but JFK beats them both). If the fare is close, go with LGA.

Be aware it can vary a lot depending on when you arrive. December traffic is esp bad due to holiday shoppoing/ amusements etc and Fridays are esp bad. Also if it's rainy/icy accidents can slow things down and drive cab fares through the roof.
I usually do a car service from Newark becaues unlike JFK and LGA they sometimes run out of cabs.

Car service is better, I'd avoid taxis. I did that and ended up paying around $65 one time. If it's only one person with little luggage, there's an express bus that'll drop you off by Grand Central. $13/one way. $22/ round trip.

There's also a bus that goes into Port Authority, which is very easy and much more reasonably priced. I think it's about $12-15 one way, and there is a counter at the airport (ground transportation level) where you can buy tickets.

The bus is fine if you don't have much luggage and don't mind the chaos of the Port Authority, but most people will have to fight the crowds (and then horrendous traffic) to find a taxi to get them from the PA to their hotel.
Unless one's budget is really, really tight, time is not a factor, and schlepping luggage is okay, a car service is the best option from EWR to Times Square.
