Busch Gardens

Anyone stayed at the Best Western next to Busch Gardens. I'm hearing it's not a good area to stay in. If that's the case should we avoid Busch Gardens.

There is nothing wrong with this area that would render it "not a good area to stay in". This hotel is located between Busch Gardens and the University of South Florida. This is a typical middle class Tampa neighborhood. There was a rape in a park in this neighborhood a few years back that turned into a major media event because this area was NOT the sort of place where things like this happen.

By all means, stay there, and go to Busch Gardens. It's a great park.

I have done a google search on Busch Gardens (Tampa) for discount coupons on admissions. Cannot find coupons, only places to buy, online, actual tickets. Am I missing something?

We stayed there about 5 years ago - it was fine. Best part was sitting by the pool and seeing birds - escapees from Busch Gardens - flying around pool and landing in trees.

When you go to Busch Gardens, if you intend on going on any water-related rides, bring an extra shirt for all in your group. After the ride they deposit you into a gift shop which sells, among other things, over-priced t-shirts that you end up buying because you are soaking wet.

We loved Busch Gardens. Have a good trip.

Busch Gardens runs specials all the time. If you want one of their discounts, the best way to get one is to call ahead to Busch's customer relations department and ask what specials they're running when you plan to go. Usually you will need a coupon from Taco Bell or some other company that they're working in tandem with -- sometimes they do deals with Coke and you have to bring in an empty can. These discounts are generally very good, sometimes up to $10 per person. Whatever the special is, Busch Gardens can give you the information.

Sorry, but I don't have a phone number for their customer relations department.

Busch Gardens has a web site- just type it in your search. Their website does list all of their "passport" options, which would only help you if you were planning to go there more that one time during the year. They offer the "Bronze" passport, which is a full year of admission for the price of one day, which is $59.95. Like TG said, you can call them and ask if they have a partnered special. Their phone # is 1-888-800-5447.
It's a fun family outing.
