Bryce and Zion Information

We are going to be in Bryce in October for 3 or 4 days before heading to Zion. Have no idea of places to stay or sights to see. Having never been to UT before, we want to see as much as we can. We plan to do some hiking so would love to know which trails to take if someone has found a great one. Hotel recommendations would also be most helpful. looking forward to any information you would like to share with us for our first time trip to UT.
thanks,
Mimi and Moe

I'd recommend the Lodge inside Zion. There are numerous hiking trails just ask for maps and specifics when you get there.

Sorry can't advise on Byrce. Suggest you try their website.

M&M,

I recommend that you click on you name here at fodors. This will take you to your previous posts that contain very good information on this subject.

I can't really add anything new.

Take the drive from Bryce to Capital Reef if you have the time. It's very scenic in a southern Utah kind of way. Well worth it in my opinion.

I stayed at Ruby's Inn while I was there. It's nothing fancy, but my room was clean. Didn't notice too many hotel options in the Bryce area.

At Zion I recommend. the Deser Pearl in Springdale

In both parks, try and stay in the parks at the lodges if possible. It's soo nice to get up early in the morning at the Bryce lodges and just stroll over to the rim as the sun comes up. I understand that the most popular trail at Bryce, the navajo trail, is temporarily closed - however there are lots of other trails down thru the hoodoos.
