Broadway Ticket Question
Good day, all. DH and I will be in New York May 22-26. I would like to see Rent before it closes June 1st. The Playbill discount does not extend that far into the future, and I'm wondering how likely it is that there will be another discount period (given that the show is closing). So, my question is, do I buy full price tickets now, or wait a bit?
Thanks for your advice

That's really weird. I know when they announced the final performance they issued a discount code good until that final performance. I had posted it on Craigslist, but several responded to say that it wouldn't work for June 1 as it was sold out. But I see the current codes do end in March. I'd be surprised if they don't re-issue another a new code soon.

Shows almost always pick up business toward the end of their runs in a rush of nostalgia. That's probably why the discount code went away. My guess is that you will NOT find discounted tickets in late May because it is so close to the end of the run, particularly on the next to last weekend. That's how Les Miz and Cats both closed out, and I suspect the same thing will happen to Rent.
