Dude Ranch - Texas Hill Country

We are scrambling to find a good recommendation for a dude ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We are wanting a bit of the real Texas flavor, could even be a small mom-and-pop place.

1. Horses and trial rides
2. A place that lets guest work on the ranch if they want, like feed the horses and clean stalls.
3. Cowboys! We stayed at a place in Arizona several years ago and they had real cowboys on staff. They told great stories, the kids loved it.
4. Water – it gets really hot in Texas this time of year, something on a river or creek.
5. Food – does not have to be fancy, just good and preferably healthy.
6. Quiet, so probably a smaller place, not a time share.

safetraveler,

Just curious as to why you are considering Texas in the summer? How about Colorado, Wyoming or Montana? Much nicer summer weather.

See if any of these tickle your fancy ( cowboy speak )

Both are near Bandera, a neat little Texas town in it's own right

Twin Elm in Bandera would also fit your requirements.

Second Twin Elm in Bandera. A river & a built in pool. Great fun & good food!

Hi, Statia!
