Broadway - Hamilton tickets
A summer trip might allow a detour through NYC so that we can go to a play or two. If this works out, later, I will post and tell you what plays we've liked in the past and ask for suggestions. You've always steered me right.
But a quick question for now - are Hamilton tickets impossible to get? By that I mean impossible unless you want to buy them from a ticket reseller at a high price.
If so, I will take it off our radar screen.
Thanks.

Resellers of the better tickets are $1K plus each. You could have a look at stubhub ad see what seems to be available - but I think you will have to pay well above face value for any tickets.
Why not sign up to get info on when the next set of tickets is released - but you will probably need to be ready to pounce the day they are released.

The Lottery gives you a minute chance of getting a ticket. If you are interested you need to go to the online lottery for that date and input your details. If selected (out of many thousands of entries) you have 60 minutes to pay for your tickets or they will go to the next person.
Tickets are for front row seats (often not the best view) and you are allowed to purchase 1 or 2.

Thanks, all.
This confirms my inklings.
Methinks that even if I win the Powerball between now and then, I'd still be too cheap to pay $1000 for a ticket.
There are plenty of other plays to chose from for now (if we are able to go).

Yes, and one issue with suggestions for lottery for tickets, people fail to realize that for those coming from out of town for a short time, they must leave open those time slots for the rare possibility of getting Hamilton tickets, thereby losing the opportunity to schedule something else to see that night. Not only do you have to REALLY want to see Hamilton, but you must be ready NOT to see other shows you'd really like to see just because you can't book them in the event you could possibly get Hamilton tickets.
traveler2005, I'm anxious for you to post shows you HAVE liked so we can make other specific suggestions for you.

neopatrick - I was going to wait until we were sure we were going, but decided to go on and post our likes since we are talking about it. I started a separate thread since this one has Hamilton in the subject line.
You are right about the lottery. With our limited time, we want to make sure that we see something. I can wait for Hamilton. Anyway, even $300 per ticket is pretty rich for my blood.
