Well, I don't think it is strange. Just about very week the Boston Globe and the NYTimes publishes a travel article on the theme ``a local's impression of x''. It is a very common practice to try and write such things from a local point of view.
Vera, I'll send you some first impressions from 20 years ago, but they are pretty lame.
